Year 4

Autumn Term

To start the year, Year 4 had "Food for Thought", where we learned about our body, teeth, digestion and how humans and other animals get energy from food.

We also had our Lihou Island Residential where we learned about our local fauna and flora, while also exploring the night sky and enjoying some gruesome tales from the past.

Later we took a trip "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" and enjoyed our class novel of "The Wizard of Oz" by Frank Baum, while also learning all about tornadoes and hurricanes. We also recorded and analysed the slightly less erratic Guernsey weather!

In Geography we have started to learn about life in the USA, it's population, landscape and climate.

Please scroll through our gallery of photos to see some of our marvelous learning as we started our Year 4 learning journey.

Spring Term

As Year 4 continue their learning journey, we are treating our ears to "The Sound of Music", with poetry from T.S. Eliot’s "Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats", class assemblies, djembe drumming, 'musical' science and much, much more!

We are also beginning a trek through India to compare and contrast this vibrant country with the USA.

Does India have a 'tornado alley'?

What are hurricanes called in India?

How do the populations of the major cities compare?

What is India's climate like?

Don't forget to come back to find out the answers and to check out our learning over the coming weeks!
