House Captains
The role of House Captain is a fabulous opportunity for the Year 6 children to showcase the range of skills and attributes they have developed throughout their school career. It is one of the highlights of reaching Year 6 and is often a very popular opportunity, with many children standing for election.
Each of the four houses, Arnold, Carey, Loveridge and Sherwill have a House Captain and a Deputy House Captain. The Year 6 children, who want to stand for election, plan and prepare a presentation to pitch to the members of their house why they feel they would be suitable for the role. The roles are then voted for by the children in each house throughout Years 1-6.
The role itself involves the elected House Captains engaging with a variety of different tasks including:
- House points collection
- Providing support within house assemblies
- Supporting at key school events such as, sports day and swimming sports
In addition, the House Captains are expected to provide support to all of their peers, uphold our school Golden Rules and be a role model to all.
