School Council
School Council members help the school by sharing ideas, interests, and concerns with teachers and the senior leadership team. Council members gather feedback and ideas from their peers through class council sessions and they then present this at full school council meetings.
School Council also help to raise funds to pay for pieces of equipment that they would like to have in school or to fund specific activities. School Council plan, organise and manage activities to support charities, raising money for worthy causes like BBC Children in Need.
Each class from Y1 - Y6 elect a School Councillor and a Deputy Councillor in September. All children are eligible to stand for election. Children are asked to produce a manifesto and to share their ideas and thoughts with their class. Candidates are then entered onto a ballot paper the election takes place in the school hall.
Election results are announced by an invited Returning Officer in a special assembly and the new School council are presented to the school.
